19 Killed in Afghanistan Security Operations


(MENAFN- QNA) At least 19 Taliban militants were killed and 11 others were wounded following counter-terrorism operations conducted jointly by Afghan national security forces.

The operations were conducted in the past 24 hours in Kunduz, Faryab, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Ghazni, Herat and Ghor provinces, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement carried by Khaama Press.

Afghan National Police conducted the anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan, statement added.

At least 5 militants were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces, the Ministry said, adding that Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition during the operations.
