UAE, Belgium in talks to expand economic cooperation


(MENAFN) The UAE's Ministry of Economy announced that it is currently in talks with its Belgian counterpart to discuss ways of expanding their economic cooperation, Gulf News report

The Ministry that these talks mostly focused on finding ways to expand cooperation and economic ties between the two countries, especially in the sectors of trade, industrial, agricultural, tourism, as well as among small and medium enterprises.

The UAE said that these talks are the result of the growing bilateral trade between the two sides, which resulted in the total non-oil trade between them to reach USD7.74 billion last year, amounting to 9 percent of the UAE's total trade with the European Union, which stood at USD42.5 during 2013.
