(MENAFN) Industry sources said South Korea's online retailers seek to expand overseas through their foreign-language web pages in a bid to counter fast-growing overseas direct purchases, Yonhap News reported.

Online direct overseas purchases were valued at USD684 million in the first ten-month period, up 48.5 percent from a year ago, while online direct overseas sales increased by 23.1 percent to USD12.12 billion.

G Market, one of the local online retailers, saw its overseas sales surging 30 percent in the January-October period compared with a year ago through its English-language web page launched in October 2006.
