UNSC expresses sorrow over Palestinian Minister's death


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The United Nations Security Council expressed their sorrow at the death of Palestinian Minister Ziad Abu Ein, which occurred after a demonstration in the Palestinian village of Turmus Ayya.

In a statement released late on Friday, the Members of the Security Council expressed their condolences to the family of Minister Abu Ein, the Palestinian people and the Palestinian Authority.

The UNSC encouraged the parties to ensure that a swift and transparent investigation is undertaken. The Council members also took note of the willingness of the Government of Israel to conduct a joint investigation into the incident.

Furthermore, the Council called on all sides to exercise maximum restraint and to refrain from steps that could further destabilize the situation.
