Kazakhstan eyes bid for 2026 World Cup
(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Kazakhstan plans to bid for the 2026 football World
Cup, the outgoing head of the country's football federation, Adilbek
Zhaksybekov, told local media Saturday in the capital Astana, dpa reported.
The oil-rich Central Asian country is making a drive to host major
sports events and is bidding with Almaty to host the 2022 Winter
Olympics.
The Asian Winter Games took place in Almaty and the 2017 Winter
Universiade will also be held in Kazakhstan's largest city.
