Qatar- QP to host 9th edition of IPTC next year

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Petroleum will serve as the host organisation for the 9th edition of International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) to be held here in December 2015, according to a press statement issued by Qatar Petroleum International (QPI), which successfully participated at the recently-concluded 8th ITPC in Kuala Lumpur.

QPI showcased its support for cutting-edge technology at the eighth edition of IPTC held with the theme 'Inspiring Technology, Transforming Our Future' in Malaysia from December 10 to December 12. The three-day event returned to Malaysia for the first time since 2008.

Over the years, QPI was instrumental in establishing IPTC as a prestigious upstream event across the globe. As long-term sponsors of the event, the company helped ensure the success of the event by establishing IPTC as the largest multi-society and multi-disciplinary conference in the Eastern hemisphere.

"Our experience in the global energy market affirms that solutions derived from leading technologies are the means for the sustainable development of our industry. As the largest oil and gas exhibition, IPTC is the ideal platform to showcase such pioneering solutions and pave the way for future generations," said Nasser Al Jaidah, CEO of Qatar Petroleum International and Co-Founder of IPTC, who was also honoured with the 'IPTC Distinguished Service Award' at last year's conference.

Al Jaidah said: "Thanks to recent innovation, sources of oil and natural gas, dismissed as uneconomic or inaccessible, are being transformed into reliable energy supplies. QPI's continued support for platforms such as IPTC demonstrates our belief in the transformative power of technology towards creating safe, affordable, and clean energy solutions to benefit people all over the world."

Qatar Petroleum International also participated with a booth at the exhibition alongside other participating Qatar Petroleum subsidiaries including RasGas Company Ltd, Qatargas Operating Company Ltd, Qatar Petroleum Industrial Cities, Qatar Fuel Additives Company Ltd (Qafac) and Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco).

QPI staff provided exhibition visitors with information on QPI's vision for the future and the technological support it provides to its oil assets around the world.

Earlier this year, the 7th IPTC held in Doha honoured QPI CEO Nasser Al Jaidah with a special "IPTC Distinguished Service Award" in January 2014. The award recognises dedicated members who have distinguished themselves in a singular and beneficial long-term service to IPTC. Al Jaidah, a founding member of the international conference, served as an honourable adviser in the past seven IPTC events since its inception.
