Afghan Supreme Court Official Killed

(MENAFN- QNA) Kabul (dpa) - Afghan officials confirmed that the secretary of Supreme Court was shot dead by Taliban in Kabul on Saturday.

"He was shot dead by unknown gunman in police district 5, when he was on his way to office," city police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said.

The Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the attack on Atiqullah Raufi, dpa reported.

The last attacks come just weeks ahead of the withdrawal of foreign combat troops from Afghanistan.

NATO will keep about 13,000 soldiers, mostly from the US, in the country to train and advise the Afghan security forces.
