Qatar- Qapco backs vocational research chair


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) and College of the North Atlantic € Qatar (CNA-Q) have signed an agreement to set up a professional chair of vocational studies to assist in building a road map for vocational education.

It aims to improve the quality of vocational training delivered by CNA-Q and Qapco to students and trainees and strengthen knowledge, skills and capacities of practitioners to improve the delivery of programmes.

The sponsorship is part of Qapco's strategy for implementing innovative ways of developing and supporting the education sector in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The scope of the chair includes a remit to conduct a review and GAP analysis of vocational curriculum to act as an in-house expert and champion of vocational training at CNA-Q and engage in research to ensure global best practices.

Dr Mohammed Yousef Al Mulla, Vice-Chairman and CEO, Qapco, described the chair as one of the most important educational research initiatives to be implemented in Qatar for many years as it will review, design and implement strategies to improve the overall quality of future graduates, equipping them with competencies required.
