April burns: My Journey up to now in life if i could sum it up comes from being in the banking industry as well as the beauty industry as a facial and nail speacialist. Then I joined the corporate fashion world for launching my own line. I worked with a few local bridal shops in the beauty industry the bar is set high. There is a lot of learning that constantly happens and you have to show up and give 100% percent. As a young woman I felt i had to constantly prove myself I knew i had to show up with my A Game you have to contribute be better and constantly work hard to be the best. I really contribute my success to starting off in an invironment where the bar was st high and I was one of the few having to give 100% percent to be better. ''It forced me to wonder in my space of growth and development and always forever learning and becoming better. Tampabay Magazine: What do you do to stay on top of your game professionally? AB: Spiritually I always first listen to God and I am always taking my cues from God. Professionally I always look at my champions in the space as a guage never as a goal I think all of my friends and family are amzing game changers and go getters trailblazers and it's very good for a guage. It's healthy encouragement. So we'll let eachother know if we're not doing enough.'' In order to stay on top of your game you need to associate with champions and leaders in the same space the game changers the people who are playing at your level. I'm always in a position of learning. I always have the input of fresh supply. Tampabay Magazine: How do you Balance it all your personal & professional? AB: I totally believe in balance and harmony. My life all runs smoothly because they both are all in one. I don't have a professional life perse. There is a call on my life so i don't detach from it. So I do believe in harmony and balance. And that real success is when your successful in all areas of your life. Your at least doing well. You can't be failing one way and winning another way. That's how i manage this thing we call balance that we also say is harmony. Everything just works 100% percent with me being in alignment with who I'am who God has called me to be that's how i work my professional and personal life. When we step up to have a meaningful and purposeful you can be all of who you are and who you were created to be....On purpose for your purpose. Tampabay Magazine: What advice would you give to an inspiring entrepreneur? ApriBurbs: My adavice would be to always listen to your heart. That means when you follow your heart it will look like you're following your passion. Then there's the part that looks like you're following your purpose. Now they are two different things. Though passion leads to purpose. passion is that thing you just like to do. Your purpose is that thing your good at and love to do. That's my advice! Tampabay Magazine: What secrets do you do in your business to make it win! AB: firts i will say that my business is so successful becuase women are hungry and a need and desire for more out of life. They want more and are hungry for a much better life and there's a need to show people how to dress and how to win in life. Some people don't know how to do both. Live life and win there's no college or school that teaches us this formula that shows us how to walk this thing out. A lot of women are just looking at TV and magazines and they are salivating and they want more for themseleves.
