4 serial Saudi robbers netted


(MENAFN- Arab News) Riyadh police have arrested four Saudis for armed robbery after they stole cash from several stores in the city armed with a gun and a machete.

The police station in Manar region reportedly received a report from a Yemeni worker at a shop in Rayyan neighborhood that four masked men driving a Hyundai car entered the shop and took money from the cash machine after threatening workers with a gun.

Later Al-Sahafa police received a report from an Indian expatriate working at a perfume shop in Ghadeer neighborhood that two masked men wearing sports clothes and driving a white car entered the shop threatened him with a machete and fled with the cash machine containing SR7000.

The police received several similar reports over the next hour from police stations in the north and east of the capital about robberies at other stores. Some of the incidents were published on social networking sites.

The police were able to use video footage from some of the stores to track down the Saudis who are all in their twenties.

The police found masks a gun and cash in their possession. The perpetrators confessed that they carried out the robberies the police said.
