Saudi- MoneyGram launches 2015 Cricket Ke Badshah Tournament


(MENAFN- Arab News) Following a successful 2014 Cricket Ke Badshah tournament MoneyGram (NASDAQ: MGI) a leading global transfer and payment services company in cooperation with Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) on Wednesday launched the 2015 Cricket Ke Badshah Tournament as part of its commitment to developing cricket in Saudi Arabia.

'MoneyGram's 2014 Cricket Ke Badshah tournament brought the game to thousands of cricket fans in Saudi Arabia who were thrilled to participate in an official cricket competition and we are proud to build upon that success with an even larger tournament starting this month' said Ananth Srivatsa MoneyGram's senior director of marketing. 'We are excited to be a part of building cricket in the country. Love of sport brings friends and loved ones closer which is what MoneyGram aims to do through our services.'

MoneyGram is an official partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the only sponsor to activate cricket in Saudi Arabia. The Cricket Ke Badshah 2014 tournament marked the first time in the history of local cricket that more than 800 cricket matches were played in a single tournament.

This year's event begins next Friday and includes 14 weeks of competition among 350 teams and more than 5500 cricket club players in the cities of Jeddah Riyadh Dammam Medina Jubail Yanbu Buraydah Jizan and Abha. This exciting tournament will complement MoneyGram's association with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 which will be played in Australia and New Zealand in February and March.
