France Condemns Death of Palestinian Minister


(MENAFN- QNA) France has condemned the violence that led to the death of Palestinian official and former Deputy Minister Ziad Abu Ein, who died after being physically abused by Israeli border guards.

"France condemns the violence that led to the death of Ziad Abu Ein," a Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement late on Wednesday.

"We call on the Israeli authorities to shed all light on the circumstances of this drama," the statement added.

France also called on all sides to exercise calm and ease tensions in the particularly charged atmosphere in the West Bank and Jerusalem at this time.

Ziad Abu Ein has died shortly after being hit by Israeli soldiers during a protest in the village of Turmusiya in the occupied West Bank.
