A class action lawsuit is running into problems in Miami Florida due to the recall of air bags made by Takata Cooperation. The defective products have already killed five people. Due to airbags not working properly more than 10 million vehicle owners have had their cars recalled. In addition there are more than 50 people who have stated that their cars have dropped in value due to the defective air bags including certain models from Honda BMW Toyota Chrysler GM and Ford.
Despite the many complaints made by consumers and dealers alike U.S. District Judge James Lawrence King is on this case and has stated that the consumers will not be able to move forward with a lawsuit just yet. The individuals named in the matter want to have the judge disclose the evidence but he has stated that he will not do so at this time. Now several judges on a panel will work together beginning on January 29 2015 to make a determination at the hearing if other cases will be folded into the case and then a judge can be selected to handle the matter once a jurisdiction for the lawsuit can be established.
Defective products especially car parts are often one reason why people have to hire a personal injury lawyer. Although the lawsuit is at a standstill injured victims may still need legal representation in the meantime to deal with insurance companies. In Miami this may be handled by Carlos Verdecia a Miami car accident lawyer that has been in business for over 20 years. His office can be reached at (888) 424-4877 or http://www.verdecialaw.com/
