Boston Massachusetts (prbuzz) December 10 2014 - EbolaSentry LLC today announced the launch of a unique new service www.EbolaSentry.com that tracks U.S. incidents of confirmed and suspected Ebola cases maps them relative to a user’s location and issues notifications with real-time data on Ebola’s proximity.
“The presence of Ebola in the United States has Americans very nervous” explained EbolaSentry CEO Robert Antonellis. “They see the high mortality rate of Ebola victims in Africa and fear that we could see similar numbers here.
“The only thing more stressful than a threat to a person’s health and family is not knowing where that threat currently is.
“We offer peace of mind by giving subscribers precise information about how close a confirmed or suspected case of Ebola is to them.”
EbolaSentry provides consumers with several levels of customizable alerts depending on where an Ebola case is reported to be suspected or confirmed.
- Zone 1: Within a set radius around the user
- Zone 2: Within the user’s state
- Zone 3: Within adjacent states
- Zone 4: Within the United States
Alerts will be delivered via email or SMS (text messaging) based on the user’s preference. Users can choose a different delivery method for each level and can specify whether they prefer immediate notification or a summary at the end of the day.
“EbolaSentry relieves users of the time-consuming and stressful task of tracking Ebola via media reports and web searches” affirmed Antonellis. “Instead they will automatically receive notifications about the proximity of Ebola to the zip code they enter.”
EbolaSentry will also disclose the user’s likely Center for Disease Control (CDC) risk level. CDC risk levels range from High Risk (direct contact with an Ebola patient’s bodily fluids without protective garb) to No Identifiable Risk. The assigned EbolaSentry risk level is based upon geographic proximity to a confirmed or suspected Ebola case.
