Pedestrian Hit Twice One Driver Flees

(MENAFNEditorial)

A passerby who was walking on Seventy First Street near Michigan Road was fatally injured after he was struck by not one but two cars early on Monday morning. The Metro Police in Indianapolis identified the victim as being a man who due to a lack of sidewalks decided to walk on the westbound lanes of the roadway. Unfortunately the two drivers couldn’t stop their cars on time and that is when the accident happened.

The first car that struck the man stopped immediately after the impact and called for help. However the second driver possibly from being overwhelmed by the fact he just hit a person fled the crash. Both vehicles were driving westbound on Seventy First Street and had the middle-aged man near Highland Road.

Early reports from the police have no details about the second driver. When asked by the press if they can provide at least a description of the runaway driver's car police said they cannot comment on this at the moment.

According to witnesses the man was walking in the westbound lanes but before they could speak to him he was struck by the first car and then struck by the second car shortly thereafter.

While in most such cases people do survive and eventually recover their losses by hiring a car accident attorney Indianapolis Lieutenant Michael Jefferson of IMPD confirmed that this man's case was not as fortunate as he died at the scene.

Currently the police investigation is focused on finding out whether the man died when he was struck by the first vehicle or the second one. According to them the investigation could take some time since an autopsy needs to be performed to clear the mystery of which impact was fatal.

For survivors of pedestrian accidents that need a personal injury lawyer Indianapolis attorney Darryl Isaacs may be able to help.
