Israeli forces kill Palestinian Minister


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)  A senior Palestinian cabinet minister has been killed after clashes between demonstrators and Israeli troops during a protest near the West Bank village of Turmusaya, according to Palestinian sources.

Israeli troops fired tear gas as the minister, Ziad Abu Ein, participated in a march which was to include planting olive trees.

Abu Ein was rushed by ambulance from the scene, but was pronounced dead after reaching a hospital in the nearby Palestinian city of Ramallah. The director of the Ramallah hospital said the minister "was martyred after being beaten in the chest".

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned "the brutal assault that led to the martyrdom" of Abu Ein, calling it "a barbaric act that cannot be tolerated or accepted.
