OIC accuse Israel of "killing" Palestinian official

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation condemned the death of Palestinian Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission chief Ziad Abu Ein, during a confrontation with Israeli forces, at a peaceful protest as a "killing.

"This heinous crime characterizes Israel's continuous policy of suppression, violence and terrorism against the Palestinian people," OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani said in a statement.

He called on the international community to put a stop to "these dangerous crimes", pointing to the need to "uncover the continuous crimes and breaches" of Israel at international gatherings.

Abu Ein died shortly after being attacked by Israeli forces during a peaceful demonstration against the confiscation of Palestinian land by Israeli settlers in the West Bank.

Photographs broadcast by Palestinian television reveal that he was approached by Israeli forces and attacked.
