Six firms win Omantel Business Excellence SME Awards 2014


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Six firms were recently honoured at the third edition of Omantel Business Excellence SME Awards 2014.

A press release stated that the event was held under the auspices of Sultan bin Salem al Habsi secretary general in the Supreme Council for Planning in the presence of a number of government officials CEOs and entrepreneurs.

'In the midst of the 44th National Day celebrations we are pleased to celebrate the success of young business pioneers. These are entrepreneurs with a passion to take the nation forward emerging as leaders in the SMEs sector. This is the sector which is undoubtedly a partner in development and a supporter of the Blessed Renaissance march' Talal bin Said al Maamari CEO Omantel was quoted in a release as saying.

He said that the SMEs sector has received great attention from the government. 'A supportive environment has been created resulting in a lot of possibilities and facilities to enable the SMEs sector to contribute to furthering sustainable development and achieving the desired goals.

'This sector has proved its ability to participate in building a solid economy in the sultanate as many entrepreneurs dedicated themselves to the advancement of industry and small and medium enterprises.'
