UAE's EAG eyes expansion in Africa

(MENAFN) Empire Aviation Group (EAG), the UAE-based aircraft management and charter company, announced that they are seeking to open a permanent base in West Africa following the inauguration of its new Hong Kong base in January, Gulf News reported.

"We already have eight airplanes operating in Africa and that fleet does continue to grow so it would quite logical that we have to do something there," Executive Director of EAG said.

The company said that it is currently placing its focus on West Africa, with the company saying that it could open its first permanent Africa base in Nigeria after the country became the region's biggest private jet market, ahead both of South Africa and Angola.

EAG, which has a mixed fleet of 28 airplanes including Dassaults, Embraers, Gulfstreams and Bombardiers, said that it is eying an expansion of its fleet after adding 6 aircraft in the past 12 months and plans to add a Gulfstream G650 and Falcon 8X to its fleet in response to increasing demand for larger aircraft.
