Qatar- IAEA keen to collaborate with QF on science and technology


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Yukiya Amano, Director-General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expressed keenness to collaborate with Qatar Foundation (QF) in the field of science and technology.

"QF and IAEA share common objectives, focusing on innovation in science and technology," he said during a recent visit to Qatar.

"There are certain areas both organisations are working in, including environment protection, water conservation and health, and this opens up opportunities for collaboration. I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful co-operation between IAEA and QF."

The head of the Vienna-based intergovernmental organisation and his delegation were welcomed to QF's Visitors Centre by Engineer Jassim Telefat, Group Executive Director, QF Capital Projects and Facilities Management.

Amano was introduced to QF through a presentation on educational initiatives, community development plans and scientific research programmes being undertaken by QF and its centres.

Amano and his delegation were shown a 3D scale model of educational and research buildings future construction projects.

He also visited the headquarters of QF Research and Development's Qatar Science & Technology Park where they were received by Hamad Al Kuwari, Managing Director, QSTP.
