TVTC plans to Saudize 502 jobs at Metro Riyadh
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) has announced its program to train Saudis for jobs in Metro Riyadh with the key goal being to Saudize 50 percent of the total workforce in the multi-billion project.
In his statement TVTC spokesman Fahd Al-Otaibi said that TVTC monitored the paradigm shift taking place in the public transport sector before it introduced several courses and training programs for the operation and maintenance of the King Abdulaziz Public Transport system (KAPT) Metro Riyadh network and bus system.
He highlighted a number of ongoing training programs for Saudis which are being provided by technical colleges.
According to Al-Otaibi TVTC has implemented a plan in coordination with government agencies and ministries to provide incentive training that aims to provide a well-equipped Saudi workforce.
'The plan aims to achieve a 50 percent Saudi workforce in the project entitled 'Metro Riyadh' in the first five years from the start of the operation. This is part of the wider TVTC role in the implementation of vital projects by building strategic partnerships with implementing companies and specialized technical institutes' he said.
'TVTC is currently coordinating with the High Commission for Riyadh Development (HCRD) to discuss the mechanism of strategic partnership. In this context a committee was formed which included the membership of a number of concerned authorities to provide the required national competencies for the management and operation of the project' he said.
