Emirates Airlines mulls corporate jet expansion in 2015

(MENAFN) Emirates Executive, the private jet division of Emirates airline, announced that it is considering increasing its fleet beyond the single Airbus A319 it currently operates next year, Gulf News reported

The company said that it will consider the type of aircrafts it could acquire for such an expansion as to fit the company's need as the company's flights average between 6 and 7 hours in length, and are booked on an average between four to five times a month

The company's sole aircraft has so far flied 450 hours since the company's launch in 2013, with the the division's initial customers being mainly members of the UAE ruling families and the Saudi Arabia royal family, though the division is now looking to attract customers from both India and China.

"It's moving away from that. We are getting clients from Africa; we are getting mainly governmental, presidential movements. We are getting traffic from Russia which is more business oriented," Emirates' Divisional Senior Vice-President, Planning and Industry Affairs said
