Qatar's Asghal starts work on USD 384.16m project in Industrial area


(MENAFN) Qatar's Public Works Authority, Ashghal, announced it will start working on a roads and infrastructure development projects, at an estimated worth of USD 384.16 million at the Doha Industrial Area, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Asghal said that the development of roads and infrastructure in the Industrial area is one of several projects the authority will conduct under a program which aims to make comprehensive improvement in the area known for high traffic and a large number of businesses.
The Authority said that the project has been divided into several phases, with the first having already begun at the beginning of this year and is expected to extend over about 480 hectares and consists of works to redesign and upgrade the existing road network and associated utilities.

The project also include protection, relocation and upgrading of existing utilities, such as potable water lines, cables and substations, networks for telephone and security systems, and construction of treated sewage network for irrigation of soft landscapes and public gardens in the area.

"It also includes construction and rehabilitation of roads with a total length of over 38km, including 18km of local roads, 7km of collector roads, and 14km of arterial roads in addition to 19 intersections to organize and manage traffic, and improve the existing transportation system," The Project Manager added.
