(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Ghassan Al-Zawawi said on Monday the international community wanted to see Iraqis united in order to provide further support in all domains.

In a statement to KUNA after his meeting with Iraqi Vice President Osama Nujayfi, Al-Zawawi said that the international community wanted to see "unified and coordinated" positions within Iraq so it could provide necessary support at all levels.

"The safety of Iraq represents a backing to Kuwait's national security too," he said.

Al-Zawawi stressed that Kuwait is interested in other issues of Iraq, mainly including the file of displaced persons, voicing Kuwait's serious readiness to provide support to Iraq in this regard.

For his part, Nujayfi expressed his gratitude to Kuwait for backing his country, looking forward to receiving further support from the international community to combat terrorism.
