Initiative to give winter aid to Syrian refugees

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  The initiative of Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to provide Syrian refugees for their needs for the winter season was launched on Monday.

More than 14,000 Syrian refugees will benefit from the initiative at the camps and across Jordan. It will provide food and health parcels, heaters and blankets. The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) is distributing the relief aid, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Oman, the UAE Relief Team, the Jordanian Red Crescent Society and a number of international organisations, to the refugees.

In a statement, the ERC praised Shaikha Fatima for her continuous humanitarian initiatives, citing her local, regional and international humanitarian status. The ERC delegation recently left for Jordan to make preparations to implement the initiative.
