Qatar- Ashghal Engineers Attend Workshop on Fighting Corruption


(MENAFN- QNA) The Rule of Law and Anti-corruption Center has on Monday started a three-day training course for Public Works Authority (Ashghal) engineers on fighting corruption and combating crimes of public funds.

The workshop, held in collaboration with Ashghal, was designed by experts from the Center and aims to educate participants on mechanisms of fighting corruption and means of detecting possible wrongdoings in bids and tenders. It also briefs participants on crimes of public funds and breach of procurement and construction contracts.

In a speech during the opening of the workshop, HE Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, who also serves as the Center's board chairman, said the objective of the Center, which was established based on an initiative from the Qatari leadership, was and remains to attract, develop and finance investments in a way that ensures transparency, integrity and good governance.
