Iran seeks to strengthen trade ties with Germany


(MENAFN) Iran's chairman Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture said that longstanding trade relations between Iran and Germany in the past years was about USD6 billion, expecting the figure to grow in the new chapter of relations, QNA reported.

He added that "Due to certain reasons Iran's relations with European countries, Germany in particular, were confined due to which trade relations were reduced to half, inflicting damage on both sides", during the Iran-Germany trade conference.

He confirmed that Germany can play an essential role in the new chapter of Iran's trade and economic relations with the outside world, adding that Germany's market has always been a source of attention for Iran and since the past has been one of the major centers for export of dried fruits, carpet and the pistachio.
