UAE- Hair salons fined for flouting health rules in RAK


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The RAK civic inspectors have seized expired creams henna and dyes and warning letters were given to the errant establishments.

The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality has fined a number of hairdressers across the northern emirate for flouting health rules and regulations.



Surprise inspection raids resulted in 12 salons being fined. Khalifa Mohammed Almaktoum Manager of Health and Environment department said: “Some salons were found using unsafe and improper beauty materials.”



The RAK civic inspectors have seized expired creams henna and dyes. “In some salons for men razors were not sterilised and smoking was allowed inside.”



Warning letters were given to the errant establishments and they were made to sign undertakings to not repeat the offences.



The RAK Municipality has also impounded four vehicles for selling vegetables on the road. Almaktoum urged the public to not buy vegetables or fruits from such vehicles.



“These food products are not under the control of the bodies concerned and customers will not be able to lodge complaints against them in cases of food poisoning or other health risks.”
