Nursing student commits suicide in Delhi


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The police said Pallavi Grover was depressed as she had failed in one of her practical examinations recently.

New Delhi - A 20-year-old nursing student who was depressed committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her hostel room at AIIMS authorities said Monday.



The police said Pallavi Grover was depressed as she had failed in one of her practical examinations recently.



“She was also depressed over her relations with the hostel superintendent and other staff” police said.



Grover a third year student of B.Sc. Nursing had returned from her home in Mayapuri in Delhi on Sunday night.



“Her body was found around 10 p.m. on Sunday...A suicide note has also been found which is with the police for analysis” said a senior official at AIIMS which is a premier hospital of the country.



According to the police Grover’s friend went to check on her after receiving a call from her mother who said she was unable to reach her daughter on phone despite repeated attempts.



The body has been taken by the police for post mortem examination.



AIIMS Director M.C. Misra said that the entire incident was being analysed.



“However it is not possible to remove the superintendent. Until the hostel warden’s version is known no action can be initiated” Misra told IANS.



A group of Grover’s friends staged a protest outside the director’s bungalow on Monday morning.
