(MENAFN- QNA) Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) has achieved a quantum leap in keeping pace with all the changes and developments in its field in 2014. The Corporation played its role in an atmosphere of media freedom, allowing it to contribute to community building, education and awareness in line with the growth taking place in the county.
Qatar Media Corporation's responsibilities include setting up and ownership of broadcasting radio and television stations in the state, along with plan, develop, produce, record, prepare and present local and international radio and television programs as well as all the related intellectual property rights, in addition to radio and television coverage to the state's activities locally and internationally.
With the aim of preserving and disseminating the national heritage, QMC owns copyrights and neighboring rights as well as commercial brand names of programs and the produced or used radio and television shows. QMC also owns broadcast rights to art festivals and sporting events, competitions and related events held at the local and external levels.
Qatar Radio, one of QMC institutions, has worked since its inception to provide many meaningful and directed programs, as well as to equip its studios with the state-of-the-art technology. Its ambitious plans included the production of dramas and programs which won in various Gulf and Arab festivals.
Over the last year, the radio station produced more than 100 hours of diverse dramas covering a range of cultural, social and religious topics. It attracted a large segment of audience and followers.
Regarding news tracking, Qatar Radio has been working continuously to improve the quality of news bulletins, particularly in terms of handling latest news and to diversify its programs.
