Ugandan rebels kill 15 people in eastern Congo village massacre

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  An attack by suspected Ugandan rebels near Beni in the
eastern Democratic Republic of Congo has left 15 people dead, the
mayor of the town said Sunday.

Some of those who fled after Saturday's attack were seriously
injured, meaning that the death toll could rise, Nyonyi Bwana Kawa
told dpa by phone.

Army spokesman Olivier Hamuli confirmed that civilians had been
attacked in the region, but said the authorities were still verifying
the number of people killed.
