(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Customs officials in Dhofar's Al Mazyona area have thwarted an attempt to smuggle heroin into the country.
An ROP official said that 20 bags of heroin weighing a total of 2kg were found in the vehicle of a Gulf national. His arrest led to another person of the name nationality who was nabbed from his residence with several psychotropic drugs.

One arrested for drug possession
Al Wusta police has arrested a citizen from Haima for drug use and possession. He raised suspicion when he was seen driving in an intoxicated condition. It was found that he was a drug addict. Psychotropic substances were found on him.

Course on digital forensics cyber security held
The ROP concluded its Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Course which was attended by officers from the Directorate General of Information Technology. The three-day course was conducted by ethical hacker Ankit Fadia.
The course covered the concept of cyber security ways to combat cyber attacks softwares used in electronic attacks and the methods of investigation using digital evidence.
At the end of the course Ahmed bin Abdullah al Hadrami director of Administrative and Financial Affairs in the Directorate General of Information Technology gave certificates to the participants.

Eight-week trade policy course begins
The Directorate General of Customs hosted participants of the Regional Training for Trade Policy course conducted by the World Trade Organization in collaboration with the Sultan Qaboos University. The eight- week course is being conducted to identify tasks and functions undertaken by the Directorate General in various economic and trade fields. The Director General of Customs talked about the important role of his Directorate General in facilitating trade and investment and achieving security in all area.
