(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omantel will organise a celebration on Monday to mark winners of its Business Excellence SME Awards. The celebration will be held under the auspices of Sultan bin Salem al Habsi secretary general of the Supreme Council for Planning in the presence of a large number of officials CEOs and entrepreneurs a press release said.
Omantel had announced in October the registration for the third Omantel Business Excellence SME Awards.
Applicants competed in six main categories - Best Performing Company - Small Enterprise Best Performing Company - Medium Enterprise Best New Entrant Turnaround Success Story of the Year Community Contribution and Best Business Idea for the Year which has been introduced this year. The awards come in line with Omantel's efforts to support the SMEs sector and recognise successful entrepreneurs.
Sheikha Hamid al Aufi manager-marketing communications at the Omantel Business Unit stated 'Omantel is committed to supporting the growth of SMEs by all means to ensure their viability and competitiveness in the marketplace.
'The turnout for this edition of the Omantel Business Excellence SME Awards has been great. All applications were assessed by independent assessors that include Ernst & Young and a number of SME experts. The winner of each category has been selected according to very clear and transparent criteria.'
