Arab parliament elects Kuwaiti MP as deputy speaker


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti and Arab member of parliament Mohammad Al-Jebri has been elected a deputy speaker of the Arab Parliament.

Nour Eddin Al-Sadd of Algeria, Abdulrahman Labdak of Morocco and Samya Hasan of Sudan were also elected deputy speakers during an Arab Parliament procedural session held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo on Saturday.

The election of the four deputy speakers for a two-year term took place pursuant to the Arab Parliament's charter.

Earlier in the day, UAE's Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan was re-elected chairman of the Arab Parliament also for two years.

The parliament is also expected to choose its committee rapporteurs and heads later today.
