Ras Al Khaimah: The Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court recently sentenced a resident to ten years in jail for trying to rape his 20-year-old Emirati woman neighbour.
The incident happened early this year when the victim went to talk to her neighbour’s maid whom she found out had gone out. The accused the owner of the house surprised the plaintiff from behind attacked her and tried to rape her.
The victim resisted the attacker with all her power and managed to run out of the house in torn clothes.
She called the police immediately and the defendant was arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution which charged him with attempted rape.
The forensic report said the man could not rape the victim but his DNA matched with that of the body fluids found on the victim. The Criminal Court found him guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in jail.
