Schools must accept children of Kuwaiti women married to expats


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Dec 4 (Agencies): Minister of Education Bader Al-Essa issued directives to the educational zones directing the heads of schools in all gradesprimary intermediate and secondary to accept the children of Kuwaiti women married to expatriates or Bedouns and the children of Bedoun military personnel in the government schools beginning next year reports Al-Anba daily. The daily said the decision stipulates the applicant must hold security card issued by the Central System for Remedying Status of Illegal Residents or must be registered with Public Authority for Civil Information and with civil number or must present a letter of family relation or health insurance card.

Meanwhile the Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Education Fahd Al-Ghais was recently quoted as saying a tender worth KD 45.41m will be floated during fiscal 2015/2016 to clean ministry buildings and schools reports Al- Rai daily. He disclosed the ministry intends to bring 10000 cleaning workers and the contracting companies will need at least six months time to do the needful from the time of signing the contract.

In the meantime Ministry of Higher Education's delegation and the Cultural Office affiliated to Kuwait Consulate in Los Angeles discussed means to overcome obstacles facing Kuwaiti students in the US. Head of the Cultural Office Dr Mansour Jaragh told KUNA in a phone call that the delegation was briefed on the progress of work in various departments of the cultural office. He stressed the office's keenness in supporting the Kuwaiti student's pursuit of education in various universities of the country.

They discussed means of serving students during the current academic year besides plans to receive students for the upcoming year besides offering a number of suggestions to the new students. He expressed thanks to the Ministry's delegation wishing for further future visits to take place. The eight-hour meeting was attended by the Cultural AttachE in LA Dr Anwar Al- Khurainij along with representatives of the departments of students and scholarships' affairs. The Ministry of Higher Education's delegation included Assistant Undersecretary of Scholarships and Cultural Relations Affairs Maysara Al-Falah accompanied by the Ministry's senior officials.
