04 December 2014: The warning comes as Aberdeenshire where City Cars is based was named as the 13th worst place in Britain for drink driving convictions and just days before the drink drive limit in Scotland is reduced from 80mg to 50mg in every 100ml of blood.
Elsewhere in Scotland Inverness was named as the fifth worst place in the UK for drinking driving after there were 1.7 offences for every 1000 drivers over the months until September this year. Fife was placed in seventh Dundee was in 18th and the Borders also made it into the top 20 coming it at number 20.
Top of the table which also included driving with drugs offences was mid Wales' Llandrindod Wells where there were 1.9 offences for every 1000 motorists. Blackpool and Crewe followed on the list of drink driving shame. The figures from MoneySuperMarket were based on information from 11million quotes for insurance.
In Scotland government ministers believe that lowering the drink driving limit will help reduce the number of deaths which currently stands at 20 every year. People who are convicted will face six months imprisonment a £5000 fine and a driving ban lasting at least a year.
Neil Greig the Institute of Advanced Motorists' Scotland-based director for policy and research said that the lowered limit would send out a clear message to potential drink drivers that it is unacceptable behaviour. Research from the RAC has revealed that more than 75 per cent of drivers in Scotland are supportive of the lowering of the limit.
