04 December 2014: School kids in Stourport have been left without vital transport after thieves stole five wheels from their school minibus. The minibus was kept in a secured compound but this did not stop thieves from entering and making off with the wheels. The minibus is used for the delivery of meals to nearby schools and also provides the transport for a number of sports teams. The school now faces extra transport costs in the form of taxis and the considerable replacement cost for five wheels.
The theft highlights the need for organisations to ensure that wheels as well as vehicles are properly secured. This can effectively and economically be achieved by fitting special locking wheel nuts.
