Oxy Oman signs pact with AIECD on parent training programme


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Occidental of Oman (Oxy Oman) and the Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities (AIECD) announced the signing of a sponsorship agreement whereby the company will support a programme tailored for the parents of disabled children.

The signing ceremony was held in the Muscat Hall of Oxy Oman's headquarters in Ghubra a press release stated.

Hussam bin Ahmed al Nabhani vice president of corporate and external affairs of Oxy Oman and Sabah al Bahlani CEO of AIECD were signatories for their respective organisations. The agreement aims to provide rehabilitation services through training of parents and children via special needs programme and portage programme (home visits). The programne aims to support parents to increase their knowledge in training their children on daily life skills and rehabilitation. The ultimate goal is to improve the ability of the children to enjoy a better quality of life through rehabilitation. This comprehensive early intervention programme that covers social medical physical academic and therapeutic services will hopefully allow the children to be able to lead better lives and enrol in public schools the release said.

This agreement comes within the framework of Oxy Oman's long-term commitment to strengthen its ties with the communities located in its concession areas and is part of strategic partnerships and continuous collaboration with key stakeholders the release stated.
