(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The President of the Independent Elections Commission (IEC), Riyadh Shakaa, on Wednesday stressed during his meeting with the British Ambassador in Jordan, Peter Millett, that the IEC is continuing its approach to institutionalize the relations with various parties and civil society institutions.
Shakaa said that the election process is a national responsibility, and reviewed the international experience, studying global electoral departments, and indicating the developments in the IEC procedures that are based on advantages derived from previous experiments in electoral processes administered by the IEC.
The UK Ambassador praised the remarkable development that IEC has achieved in its work, the progress in the management of electoral processes as well as the importance of the Commission continuing along the path of political reform in Jordan.
