Saudi- Scientific exchange urged at meeting on hormonal steroids
(MENAFN- Arab News) The 16th International Congress on Hormonal Steroids and Hormones & Cancer ICHS&HC 2014 opened at the Ritz Carlton on Tuesday.
The high profile event was organized by the Department of Medicine at Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) and it aims to promote scientific exchange between clinicians and basic scientists on the latest findings in the field of hormonal steroids hormones and cancer according to IMSIU Rector Prof. Sulaiman Aba Al-Khail.
The congress will include plenary lectures interactive discussions and symposia to be conducted by distinguished scientists who will share the latest discoveries in all aspects of the field.
In his speech Aba Al-Khail said that such scientific events bring together renowned world scientists and will benefit Saudis in this important field of learning.
'It is very beneficial to the community for their health awareness' he noted.
He said that the leadership of Saudi Arabia has given high importance to acquiring knowledge especially in the medical field which 'we desperately need to enrich specialists through research and studies colleges and institutions as well as the participation of international expertise.'
He said that the conference is an important corner stone in addressing the needs of patients.
Prof. Fernand Labrie president of ICHS&HC said the 28 renowned specialist doctors from five continents will tackle during the symposium various topics including breast cancer endometrioses cardiovascular-lung-paracrine gastrointestinal tract and prostate cancer polycystic ovary syndrome-thyroid cancer steroidogenesis obesity and menopause. He said this event taking place here for the first time had its first and second meetings in Milano in 1962 and 1966 and is now being held in various capitals of the world.
