Passengers travelling through Dubai Airports grow 5.7 percent


(MENAFN) Passenger traffic at Dubai International grew 5.7 percent in October, putting the airport on track to eclipse the 71 million passenger mark by the end of the year, the latest traffic report showed, Emirates 24/7 reported.

Passenger traffic in October estimated to 5.989 million compared to 5.667 million registered in the same month last year, up 5.7 percent. Year-to-date traffic grew 6.1 percent to 58.411 million compared to 55.046 million recorded in the same period last year.

However, aircraft movements rose 1.6 percent to 32.789, up from the 32.279 recorded during October 2013. Year-to-date movements totaled 280.779 compared to 305.596 in the same period last year, a decline of 4.8 percent due to the shift of all pure cargo flights.
