Aussie retreats after disappointing GDP

The Australian dollar dropped to four-year lows against the US dollar on Wednesday on weak third quarter GDP data from Australia.

The Australian gross domestic product came weaker than expected and rose 0.3%, weighing on the Australian dollar, while the US dollar gained more support against most major currencies due to growing optimism about the continued recovery of the US economy. 

AUD/USD pair hit 0.8389 during late Asian trade, the pair`s lowest since July 2010.

The pair dropped 0.56% around 0.8402, at 08:51 GMT.
