(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) VIPs and mediapersons joined Oman Air's inaugural flight from Muscat to Manila on Tuesday. The new service will offer three flights per week aboard Airbus A330s.
cake-cutting ceremony was held at Oman Air's first and business class check-in area at the Muscat International Airport to commemorate the inaugural flight under the aegis of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi secretary general in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a press release said. Each guest on the inaugural flight will have the opportunity to enjoy Oman Air's award-winning onboard service dining and inflight entertainment.
They will also be able to experience the airline's internationally-acclaimed business class seats. These were named at the Skytrax World Airline Awards as World's Best Business Class Airline Seats for two years running.
They offer a 17' personal monitor and a 77' long fully lie-flat bed – one of the longest in the skies. The guests are being joined by Paul Gregorowitsch CEO Oman Air who will be on hand to discuss the new route. He will also describe the importance of the Manila service within Oman Air's ambitious growth strategy.
Upon arrival in Manila events including a gala dinner will introduce guests to the dynamic city and give them invaluable insights into what the future holds for the Omani national carrier. The launch of the Manila service marks the start of Oman Air's latest ambitious programme of growth.
This sees the airline's fleet strength increase from 30 aircraft to around 50 over the next three years. The expanded fleet will enable Oman Air to offer customers a greater choice of destinations increased frequencies on established routes and more convenient connections at Muscat International Airport the release said.
Following the launch of the new service travellers from the Philippines will have the opportunity to enjoy Oman's renowned hospitality and natural beauty.
