Saudi- Search teams find bodies of three missing in floods
(MENAFN- Arab News) Civil Defense teams in Haqal province found on Tuesday the bodies of two children and an adult which had been missing following the recent rain floods in the valley.
The teams also uncovered the car they were traveling in and confirmed the identities of the deceased.
Following reports of the disappearance of the citizen and the two children the Civil Defense launched a search operation and eventually discovered the bodies in the area. The search teams are also looking for another missing child in the valley.
Spokesman of the Civil Defense Department in Makkah region Col. Saeed Sarhan said that the floods in the valleys had resulted in a number of accidents. He confirmed that a search was on to find a third missing child in the valley. Meanwhile the bodies have been transferred to a hospital in the province.
In a related development the search teams of the Civil Defense recovered three cars in Qunfudah in the valley of Shojah whose drivers had perished in the floods.
Members of the teams used heavy equipment to clear away rocks in the rugged valley area during their operations. Other provinces in the east of Adom province recorded several citizens missing as a result of the heavy rains. The Civil Defense has warned citizens and residents to avoid valleys and low-lying areas during rains.
