US condemns attack on Lebanese army
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The US on Tuesday condemned an attack by gunmen on Lebanese soldiers near the Syrian border, in the town of Ras Baalbek, killing at least six soldiers.
"We extend our sincere condolences to the victims' family and wish a speedy recover to those who were injured," State Department Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf told reporters.
"The United States remains committed to strong support for the Lebanese armed forces as they protect Lebanon's sovereignty and security and combat violent extremists," said Harf.
