Thousands of UAE flags on Umm Suqueim Beach


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  Brand Dubai, an initiative launched by the Government of Dubai Media Office, has launched a creative initiative to place thousands of UAE flags on Umm Suqueim Beach in Jumeirah (3). The initiative - in collaboration with Dubai Municipality - emphasises the fact that the UAE's flag represents the nation's pride and symbolises citizens' allegiance to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Commenting on the event, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office Mona Ghanim Al Marri, said the UAE National Day is an occasion where everyone competes to express their loyalty and gratitude to the country and display their sense of belonging to the country.

Brand Dubai urged the public to visit the adorned site at Umm Suqueim Beach and participate in celebrating the national day by taking pictures, welcoming visitors to tag their photos on Instagram using #DubaiSpeaksToYou and mentioning @BrandDubai. The flags will remain at the site till mid-December.

For her part, Director of Communication and Innovation in the Government of Dubai Media Office Noora Al Abbar expressed happiness for the positive reaction and the good turnout of local families and residents at the beach.

Thanking the Dubai Municipality for its cooperation, Al Abbar said: "the initiative was completed in a record time".

Commenting on the project location at Umm Suqueim Beach, Al Abbar said: "We wanted an open and spacious location for this project to attract and accommodate more people; further, the waterfront attracts a lot of people throughout the year."
