(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Saif reviewed economic relations on Monday with a delegation from the British House of Commons, including members of The Council for Arab-British Understanding, CAABU, and the All Party-Parliamentary Jordan group led by MP Crispin Blunt.
Talks dealt with the economic, financial and human consequences being borne by Jordan due to regional events, as well as their hosting large numbers of Syrian refugees, which placed additional economic and social burdens on Jordan's budget.
Saif stressed the importance of the historic ties between Jordan and Britain, which has an impact on achieving comprehensive development in Jordan through political, economic and technical assistance programs, as well as support for small and medium enterprises.
The British delegation praised the reform program led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, which contributed to making Jordan a model for regional reform and helped in mitigating the effects of the economic crisis.
