Aureus Mining doubles resource base at Ndablama


(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors) Aureus Mining’s (LON:AUE CVE:AUE) secondary deposit in Liberia is shaping up to be a major gold project in its own right with the group revealing a doubling of the resource base at Ndablama to almost 900000 ounces.

At a 0.5 grams per tonne cut-off the company is now sitting on a 386000 ounce indicated resource at 1.6 grams per tonne with a further 515000 in the inferred category.

Chief executive David Reading told investors: “From the positive results received from drilling only a 1.2 kilometres strike length of a 13 kilometre structure this is only the beginning of what looks to be a very exciting gold district most of which locates within our current mining license.”  

Aureus' global measured and indicated mineral resource base now stands at 1.53mln ounces of the precious metal plus 1.29mln million ounces inferred.

Ndablama is on the northern block of the firm’s Bea Mountain Mining licence some 40km north-east of the firm’s fagship New Liberty Gold project.

New Liberty currently under construction and due pour its first gold in the first quarter of next year will be Liberia’s first gold mine.
