Japan, Turkey launch economic partnership deal talks

(MENAFN) Local media reported that Japanese and Turkish government officials have launched talks on concluding a bilateral Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), QNA reported.

Japanese negotiators will ask their Turkish counterparts to eliminate tariffs on autos and other goods, along with easing investment regulations and allow more Japanese firms to bid for public works projects in Turkey.

Japan's chief negotiator said that the proposed EPA would be a significant method to strengthen the economic ties between the two nations, as increasing number of Japanese exporters are seeing Turkey as a promising market.
